I sat at the bar, my bare back to the door. Any minute, the club would open and men and women whoâd come to Club Sin in search of something would enter. Maybe they were out for a no-strings night of fun. Maybe they were trying to rekindle a flame with a long-time lover.
I was there for one reason⦠to find out if this was where Kian, Chance, and Pierce had been coming and if so, if any of them would be willing to step into room twenty-four with me.
The invitation the bartender passed me gave me use of one room for one night. I had no idea what to expect. Charlotte had gone over the rules of the club, but Iâd been so excited, so terrified, so eager, that I only caught half of what she said.
Anticipation wound through me, heightening my senses, making me hyper aware of everything⦠the soft music playing in the background, the warmth from the fireplace across the room, and the way the barely there fabric caressed my skin. Iâd always had a problem with loving my body. Tonight I wanted to set that asideâto see if I could let my inhibitions go for a short period of time.
With a few minutes to spare, I picked up my glass of champagne and followed the hall to the elevators. Theo, the bartender, would issue each of the men a key and tell them I was waiting upstairs. I didnât know which one would come to me.
Would it be Kian, with his emerald eyes, that sparked with humor? His size might split me in two, but Iâd relish the chance to spend an evening in his warm embrace. Or Chance, whose mind was always two steps ahead of me and kept me on my toes with his verbal innuendos? I doubted Pierce would come. Out of the three of them, he was the most distant. Something primal and dark lived behind his dark brown eyes.
Whichever one came to me, Iâd be grateful for an evening in his arms. I unlocked the door to room twenty-four and slipped inside. Mis Charlotte said all the rooms had a theme. Red fabric draped over the walls and my feet sank into a thick, plush carpet. Everything about the space screamed of opulence and luxury. A huge four-poster bed sat in the center of the room, much larger than any bed Iâd ever seen. A fire blazed in a marble fireplace on the opposite wall and a wide couch sat in front of it. I donât know what I expectedâmaybe something that looked like a dungeon with whips and chains hanging on the walls?
This room looked like a high-end suite at one of Manhattanâs finest hotels. Not that I would know from personal experience. I walked around the perimeter of the room. A dozen soft-as-silk robes hung in the closet. One wall held a fully stocked bar, complete with a standard size refrigerator. I pulled on the door to peek inside.
